More about our Ballet Offerings

Ballet is the basis for all forms of dance and is an integral part of our entire dance curriculum. Our ballet program is based in the cechetti method with a class structure that will support quality education and advancement from the beginner ballet student through advanced levels of ballet; including pointe work.

The ballet instruction we offer at the Dance Studio of Wakefield grows with student. The recreational student from a very young age is offered an introduction to ballet and pre-ballet in their combination class. As students experience the different styles of dance and want to become more involved in a particular subject they can move into the intensive program where the ballet instruction along with the other forms of dance becomes more formal. Students interested in Dance Company are required to take ballet as part of their curriculum.

All of our teachers are experienced with every age and level and the head of our ballet program is a former student classically trained with a BFA from the Boston Conservatory of Dance. New dance students coming into our studio will be assessed in ballet as well as the other disciplines by our staff and placed in the proper level to best continue their training. Although we do not offer a Nutcracker at our studio we do encourage and work with the local community ballet youth programs and many of our ballet students have performed in the Nutcracker with roles from party children through the Sugar Plum Fairy.
